Room mist vs aerosol room freshener: what is the difference?

The short answer
An aerosol room freshener is mostly propellant carrying a little fragrance, so it sprays a big cloud that fades within minutes. A room mist is a liquid concentrate in a pump bottle: no propellant, a fine mist, and two sprays are usually enough. Forwills Days Range mists come in 50 ml glass bottles that last four to six weeks.
How do they compare?
| Aerosol can | Room mist (pump bottle) | |
|---|---|---|
| What comes out | Propellant plus fragrance | Fragrance concentrate only |
| Feel in the air | Can feel harsh in the throat | Fine mist |
| How long the scent stays | Often minutes | Longer, especially on fabric |
| Dose | Long blasts | Two sprays |
| Container | Pressurised can | Refillable-style glass bottle |
Which one should you pick?
If you want a softer, controllable scent, choose a room mist. The Forwills Days Range has a blend for each day of the week; the Classic Range covers jasmine, lemon, berries and musk oud.
